I've heard that the only thing worse than bad karaoke is good karaoke, and I couldn't agree more. The first few shows are good because of the really bad auditions. Once that is over, you couldn't pay me to watch. So why is it so popular? I genuinely want to know. I don't get it.

People are dumb and TV programs are dumber. It gives the morons something to talk about at the water cooler.
Lately, I've noticed a lot of shows based on the best or weakest link and each week they get rid of one or two. There's one about hair stylists, one on chefs, one on dress designers. The Dr. Who program had it right when they did an episode on these things and the loosers where executed.

Personally, I like hearing the singing. But I believe that many audience members are into the negative comments and relationship of the judges. This seems to be an angle they market quite heavily.

It matters how mature u r, ppl who r immature and rude like it 4 Simon's rudeness & bad auditions. Kind and mature ppl, like the show 4 listening to great singers who r trying their hardest to reach their dreams. I love watching it because i like to see someone's dream come true. It is just entertaining to all types of ppl, which almost everyone can relate to (being complemented, discouraged, challenged, criticed, etc). Therefore, many ppl like this show.

I can't say why others watch it but I watch it to hear what Simon is going to say next. Some times he is slightly too harsh but most of the time the stuff he says just cracks me up.

I personly don't now but I think it is the suspension of who is going to win like i remember my Gf last season She wanted Blke to win but the girl won. I dont really even like the begining of it i just like all the people who think they have and Simon makes cracks at them!!!Lol

thats like why did everyone watch american banstand it has become part of our generations culture and it has made stars out of nobodies, and the people who watxh want to see who the next superstar is going to be, and what they are like before they become stars
