I am aware and I don't subscribe to it, I don't care who frowns upon it either.
EDIT: What people are missing is that there is a difference between being "PC" and not being disrespectful. Just because you are of a race, gender, or sexual orientation doesn't automatically give you respect above all others. Being "PC" suggests that you should and that is wrong. For example: Homosexuals don't deserve respect just because they are homosexual. I could have respect for the person if I didn't find out in the first place that they were that way. They usually feel the need to advertise it though and I have no respect for that, nor should I have to.

I am aware of the state of PC today. I believe though that the constitution does not give anyone the right to not be offended.
In the state of public discourse, I say what I want with minimal consideration. I maintain politeness, but not PCness.
At work though, since I am employed by a corporation, If I want to keep my job (and I like my job), I toe the corporate line.

First of all, as a woman, I am inherently unable to be "emasculated."
Secondly, I don't think it's my right to degrade others and try to make them feel as though they're inferior to me because of their race, gender, religion or other superfcial factors that are often degraded but are still no basis upon which to judge another human being's worth.
Thirdly, I don't feel weak because I happen to possess a large enough grasp of the English vocabulary that I don't have to use racist, sexist or other derogatory language to get my point across. In fact, having such a grasp of the vocabulary makes me feel empowered.

Have you heard the joke about the homosexual black Jew that.........Political correctness is a tool to limit speech. Personally, I don't purposely cut someone down. But if someone chooses to be offended by something I say, so be it. P.C. is just another tool in the "elitist" tool chest to feminize the country. Oh, have you heard the one about the lesbian Arab, midget?

it does...an everyone has a piece of it. "political correctness" is just a buzz word substituted for conformity. no matter where you live you will conform or hold your tongue when in the company of your peers or co-workers. a tiny minority will say what they want when they want face to face. in a forum, such as this, bravado reigns over discretion. and ignorance dances right beside wisdom. and that's the truth.

No. Political correctness matters only to those who have no balls to begin with. In the real world Americans can speak their minds. In the New Socialist Fantasy everyone must conform to the values of the moment.

Hmmmm. The biggest myth in politics today is that political correctness is owned by the left. Just ask Ron Paul after the "debate" a few months back..
