Bob Marley was reggae’s foremost practitioner and emissary, embodying its spirit and spreading its gospel to all corners of the globe.

His extraordinary body of work embraces the stylistic spectrum of modern Jamaican music - from ska to rock steady to reggae - while carrying the music to another level as a social force with universal appeal.
Marley cannot claim to have had even one hit single in America, but few others changed the musical and cultural landscape as profoundly as he.

As Robert Palmer wrote in a tribute to Marley upon his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, “No one in rock and roll has left a musical legacy that matters more or one that matters in such fundamental ways.”

~~~ Aspen Dreamer has said it well. I would also like to add that Bob Marley is my Hero.I'm listening to His "Redemption Song" as I write this. That would be about the thirteenth time I've heard that particular song of His today,because it's one of my favorites. Of course every single thing He sings is "my favorite" when it comes to The Great Bob Marley....King of Reggae. I love the sound of His voice and the feeling He puts into His music. Bob Marley: "He who feels it,knows it more." Robert Palmer of Rolling Stone Magazine wrote: "The beauty of Marley's music is that while it holds a special significance for the sufferers of the world,it speaks to any listener with an open heart....the rhythms are as close as your heartbeat, the voice speaks a language the Spirit understands. And yes, when it hits, you feel no pain." 1994 That says it quite well too. Bob Marley was noot only an incredible singer and artist, He was a Natural Mystic and He accepted His role with grace and I thank Him for that. His music will live on forever! ~~~
Who the hell is Bob Marley?
Maybe I've heard a song of his but I have no clue if it was him or not.
So I guess I'm indifferent for now because I really don't recognize the name. Sorry!
