ohh thats really cool, umm you live pretty close to nyc soo thatd prob be your best bet at finding some work, but if you really really want to, then maybe you can convince your mom to travel to l.a. and find some work there, because thats basically where you'd find the more movie roles and stuff, just keep practicing, looking your best, and maybe when your a little older you can move to l.a. for college or something.
good luck!!!

1. Get an education. Most people don't make it as actors, and while I don't want to discourage you from trying, reality is you will probably need to get another job. It will help if you can spell.
2.Subscribe to Backstage and Variety so you know when auditions are coming up. Then get your parents to take you to the casting calls and see what kind of response/feedback you get. That will give you a good idea of your potential.
3. Develop some humility. No one likes an arrogant teen actor. It's a surefire way to end up on the Surreal Life in 10 years.
4. Bear in mind that Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) is the daughter of Billy Ray, so she was born into show business and has a lot of advantages that many others don't. You are starting from the bottom up, and without parental support, you will have a difficult time of it. You need to convince your parents that you want to do this more then anything else.

Your are in the heart of one of the main cities for acting NYC. If you are serious you need to have a heart -heart with your parents, and since you have done so well in school up to this point you have credibility for them to take you seriously.
Subscribe to Backstage
Get a Good Acting Teacher to develop skills for open casting calls. (Preferably get a teacher who has actually worked)
Once you've gone out on a few open calls you will get feedback to know if you have a shot in getting an agent,
As its true 90% of successful actors have "someone" in the business who support them there is that 10% that make a living as an actor and have decent resumes to be proud of in this crazy industry.
I'm not in the business but live on the UWS in NYC and know alot of people. Also remember not to get side tracked and lose sight of your education, there are actresses like Natalie Portman, and Anne Hathaway who have a successful career and graduated from college.
I have a friend who just started going to a Great acting Teacher but not sure if he teaches teens. I could look into if you and your parents are serious about your acting career. Good Luck.....

I do to and i'm on my way- I'm Tye tye and no offense to anyone above me but they are all WRONG except for some little things. 1st step: take acting, dancing and singing classes because these days you'll never make it unless your a triple threat.
2nd step: join your schools drama club or theater program.
3rd: look for LOCAL auditions and try out fot those so you have more experience.
THEN you can look for big auditions like i currently am. i mean you could try to go straight for it but it dosent always work out.
Also, good grades are a MUST for actors b/c if your gonna be out of school or set schooled you must have the grades or you can't work your responsibilities.
try it- I really hope we meet one day on a set(lol)
GOOD luck and remember what i said- GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!

If your mom said no, she means no. Wait until you are older.
You cannot be a teen actor like Hanna Montana, because Hanna Montana is NOT real, it's a created character for television.

I would start in plays like, Broadway or something, or try and talk TO hannah montanaSOMEHOW and see how she got started, or try and become yourown show....I dunno...I guess I am not much help. But I would say try out for a few plays and see if you'd really be up to it.

First, you had better start acting. Act in everything you can.
Without your family's support it will be difficult for you to do anything until you are 18. New York Gal has it pretty well nailed.
