If you are keeping it in a bowl, that is why Bob died. Goldfish get 18 inches long, and by keeping it in such a small space, you stunted and killed him. Don't get another fish until you can care for it.

um, the best thing to do after you lose a fish is understand why.

I always check my water and other fish for signs of problems.

Certainly goldfish are not small fish, but they arent shortlived either, being able to grow to 24 inches and liveing over 20-50 years.

To be honest, my guess is that you didnt have him in a big tank, and thats the problem, as the water parameters have to been off which caused him to die. Goldfish re messy fish so they dont really do well in bowls or small tanks.

Goldfish really need 55 gallons and a canister filter.

First off, I am very sorry to hear about your special pet goldfish. I know how hard it is to loose a pet. I have, over the years, lost 6 different cats. It is never easy. Have a good cry, say your good byes. Remember the fun you had with him. With time your grief will get easier to handle.

having another fish will definitely help with your grief. it just takes time. keep yourself busy with other thoughts so you won't think about Bob as much.

a 21 gun salute over the toilet where you flushed him might help
