My husband and I recently started a small business. My husband has an MBA. We have also read many books on owning a business and running a company. We are not making very much money right now. 4 out of 5 small businesses fail within the first 5 years. My next door neighbor has a high school diploma and is a certified carpet cleaner. He has a carpet cleaning company and is doing just fine without a college education. I think that an education is a good thing but it isn't the deciding factor in owning your own business. I think your business degree could cause you to earn more money if you worked for a large corporation but not necessarily in your own small business. I think your skills and expertise in whatever business you start is more important.

The way you phrase your question, it sounds like there is some mysterious entity out there who is going to pay you for your degree! I assume what you really mean is that you want to know if getting a business degree will give you the knowledge to be more successful at running your own business, right?
If you start your own business, the amount of money you will earn depends upon your sales volume, your prices, and your costs. That means you have to find a product or provide a service that people want or need, you must market it so that people know you are providing it, you must keep your costs at a minimum, and you must price your product or service appropriately. If a degree helps you do all of the above, that's great, but a degree is not necessary for success. People without a degree can learn what they need to know by reading and researching and through experience (school of hard knocks).

You will make money according to what you sell , what services you provide etc. not how many degrees you have.
Your degree might help you along the way but your experience is where you really learn to run your business.
For example knowing a good deal when you see one and not pannicking when the going gets tough cause you know in the end it will come out alright. That comes with experience.

It depends on your experience not only cert and what you can bring to the business and what you can offer your client and how much you think your time is worth and will someone be willing to pay what you want.
