my top(live) rappers have to be:
KRS-ONE
NaS
Rakim
Guru(of Gangstarr)
andre 3000
Cee-lo Green
(the last 2 just don't get enough credit)

Lyrics:

KRS-ONE
Yeah, yeah
Everybody on the mic in the party sound alike
until I recite, in black and white what's right
Let me take flight, my style is TIGHT AN GOOD
TIGHT AN GOOD, come is it TIGHT AN GOOD
Old styles I pass dat, slow down on fast rap
All in yo' ass crack, old King go Blast dat
Conjure to ask dat, hyper type of flashback
I publish like ASCAP lyrics for hand clap
No past rappin, youth trackin, talent lackin
MC's more worried about their financial backin
Steady packin a gat as if something's gonna happen
But it doesn't, they wind up shootin they cousin, they buggin
I appear everywhere and nowhere at once
I know my style is bumpin, even though some people front
It's the God of rap, you heard of it
The one that rhymes toward the sky givin airplanes mad turbulence
In rap tournaments, I reign permanent
Don't you think by now the number one spot I'm not concerned with it
The course of rap I'm turnin it
Back to that good old fashioned way of getting cash money by earning it
No bogus hocus pocus, I bring back to focus
Skills if you notice my position is lotus
Now quote this, MC's are just hopeless
Thinkin record sales make them the dopest

Guru
Yo I got one lyric pointed at your head for start
Another one, is pointed at your weak ass heart
Now if I pull the trigger, on these fully loaded lines
You're gonna wish I woulda pulled a black nine, I mack dimes
Crack the spines of the fake gangsters
Yeah the bitin triflin niggaz, and the studio pranksters
Yo lookin at the situation plainly: will you remain G?
Or will you be looked upon strangely?
I reign as the articulator, with the greater data
Revolvin on the TASCAM much doper than my last jam
While others struggle to juggle, tricky metaphots
I explore more, to expose the core

Andre 3000
Walk it out like a usher
If you say real talk, I probably won't trust ya
If you want to go to war, the gun's my pleasure
Even Jesus had 12 disciples on the level, trigger, whatever
Peyimmmmp, you don't want nan day of three thou'
I'm like jury duty - you're new to this part of town
Your white tee, well to me, look like a nightgown
Make your momma proud, take that thing two sizes down
Then you'll, look like the man that you are, or what you could be
I can I give a damn 'bout your car, but then I would be
if it was considered a classic befo' the drastic change
in production when cars were metal instead of plastic
Value - is what I'm talkin 'bout, take two of these and walk it out
You'll be the reason they chalk it out, you can't be the king in the parkin lot
Forever - not sayin I'm the best but 'til they find somethin better
I am here, no fear, write me a letter
(I change the song after that verse)

Cee-Lo Green
You see, I do what they wont do and cant do
But gon wish they did when I'm done
And with a smile on my face, give the trophy for second place rite after I won
Shake his hand, firm like a man but talk to him like a son
And this way I can still be a little somethin to everyone
And with that elegance, I rock climb to reach hints from God of relevance
Poise, position, and the plush of a revalance
And I'm outstandin, outpsoken, which is the unequivocal evidence
It is then instant vintage as it has been, ever since, ah!

Rakim
I speak indiscreet cause talk is cheap
Then I get deep and the weak then complete their
Pull with a seat, never weak or obsolete
They never grow old techniques become antiques
Better then something brand new 'cause it's radiant
And the wild style'll have much more volume
Classical too intelligent to be radical
Masterful, never irrelevant: mathematical
Here's some soothing souvenirs for all the years
They fought, and sought, the thoughts and ideas
It's cool when you freak to the beat
But don't sweat the technique

Best rapper alive? Ehh, the best rapper alive has to be someone who hasent blew up yet, because he/she would make a big impact that no rapper has been able to do since the deaths of Biggie/Tupac.

Nas

Jesus died at age 33, there's thirty-three shots
from twin glocks there's sixteen apiece, that's thirty-two
Which means, one of my guns was holdin 17
Twenty-seven hit your crew, six went into you

Foxy got you hot cause you kept your face in her pus
what you think you getting girls now because of your looks?
Negro please
You no moustache having with whiskers like a rat
Compared to Beans you wack

Your man stabbed Un and made you take the blame
You azz, went from Jaz to hanging with Caine, to Herb, to Big
And, Eminem murdered you on your own sh*t
You a dick-riding faggit, you love the attention
Queens niggas run you niggas, ask Russell Simmons

definitely the game especially his song "never be friends" which is dedicated to his friend who was shot down

[Verse 1]
Yeah though I walk through the valley of death
Vest on, Teflon NOW IM approached in my Hurricane sweats
Black chrome my shoulder, big wheel ‘till it's over
He never got to see me put black chrome on the Rova
Reading your obituary wishing we never met
So I wouldn't have to shed tears or wake up in cold sweats
Lookin' at this bottle of Hennessy wishing you never left
Wishing I chased your Monte Carlo down and gave you my vest
Or better yet I wish they never let you out
And I never got that phone call tellin' me that you out
Wish you never signed the release form
I wouldn't have had to clear this sample
Or use this track to say rest in peace for him
You wanted to know if Dre and Em felt you?
They did, before I could tell you somebody killed you
I feel pain for everybody that ever knew the real you
Call Nas tell him that I got an Ill Will too

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]
N****s politickin' wanna know why I'm rhymin' different
My best friend got murdered, n***a my mind is different
If you ain't never spent no time in prison
You can't understand these bars or the lines I'm spittin'
N****s rilin' me up let's go find a victim
I can't do it homie that's the reason Shyne in prison
And through divine intervention ten plus years doing crime in the trenches
Multiply by the time we spent in the kitchen
It's a life worth of hard livin', Cuban cigar tippin'
Twelve grade ditchin', purple serve by the jar sippin'
If you lost a homie you know friendship is God given
I've done seen the church so much you'd think I was born Christian
I've done seen more dead bodies than a mortician
Seen n****s in and out of county blues like they was born crippin'
So I'ma keep on livin' cause when I'm gone n****s ain't gonna do s**t
But f**k my b***h and poor liquor

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
What if you was me
And you had to sit through an entire funeral
While the Pastor readin' your homeboy's eulogy
I'm already dead
What the f**k you gonna do to me?
Keep talking s**t I'll empty my clip in that G-Unit tee
Gimme a minute to say my grace with God
I'll see your face in the mirror I came a long way to talk
And tell you your Moms is missing you
Your Pops is missing you
Just saw your baby pictures in your Grandmother's living room
Face is missing you homie
Wink is missing you
Thank God you left us memories and songs to listen to
VALE is missing you
The hood is missing you
Let my son graduate high school
And I'm gonna come visit you
The world is missing you
Eminem was feeling you
Dre said he felt your vibe the little time we spent with you
Pour the Henny out cuz he ain't here in the physical
They say real men don't cry but n***a I'm missing you

[Chorus]

u gotta love the last line...
