volume1 x concentration1 = volume2 x concentration2

50mL x 25% = volume2 x 10%

solve for volume2

volume2= (50mL) x 25% / 10%

volume2= 125mL

So if volume2 is 125mL and also the final volume of the 10% solution made from 50mL of the 25% solution, then you have to add 75mL of water to the 50mL of 25% to get 125mL of the 10% solution.

well if 25% of 50 ml is 12.5 ml of acid..

10% of 125 is 12.5 ml

so to get 50 to 125 you have to add 75ml
