In some parts of the world, yes, Persians are a minority.

In Iran they are a major ethnic group.

And although they tend to be dark haired and have dark eyes and somewhat swarthy complexions, they are racially Cacuasiod.

In the USA, yes Persians/Iranians are a demographic minority, but not a "minority" like African-Americans or Hispanics, or Native Americans.

"Minorities" are only minorities in the USA if they have political clout as VICTIMS of something or another, real, imagined, historic or current.

Persians/Iranians in the USA by and large are very successful, educated, and solidly middle and upper middle class or well on their way to being so. If the parents are working class they have instilled the desire for working hard and upward mobility into their children who get into college on the basis of their own grades and acheivement.

Persians/Iranians in the USA don't need any "help" the African-Americans. Hispanics, and Native Americans seem to need. Since when is the "upperhand" you speak of any advantage?

Don't you want to acheive on the basis of your own hard work? A hand out doesn't teach you how to acheive on your own.

Persian/Iranians in the US are victims. They are victims of the radical imans in Iran who want to take their country and the rest of world back to a world of Caliphs and rigid Shiria Law.....and many fled to the USA where they could continue living an upwardly mobile modern Muslim lifestyle.....not one sent flying backwards in time to the seventh or eight century!

My cousin's former husband is Persian and their daughter is a college student and model in LA.
