There's no such thing as society, just individuals living in common. What matters is right and wrong, and abortion is wrong because it takes an innocent human life. In terms of who benefits, every good and evil deed benefits some people and harms others. That shouldn't be the sole deciding factor of whether something is legal.

Overall crime rate in the USA had dropped dramatically over the last 35 years, because we don't have millions of unwanted and unparented children growing up to be criminals.

Since 1991 (18 years after Roe v. Wade), homicide has fallen 40%, violent crime and property crime is down 30%, and female suicides are down 30%.

I'm not saying I'm for or against abortion, just answering your question.

protecting the freedoms of natual _BORN_ U.S. citizens is the entire point of America

a fetus is not a natual born citizen of the United States and therefore not entitled the same rights as a living breathing BORN citizen of the United States

the very basis of Naturalization and Citizenship in America would be put into question should a non-born non-citizen's rights usurp the rights of a Born American Citizen

it's the very foundation of America
