Ok. Let me explain just what happens in the United State's political system. Two or more people run for an office, winning such office by recieving the most votes. To gain votes, these individuals, called candidates, have a vision about what would make the country better and promise to make such changes. The majority rules, so, if you agree with what a certain candidate offers, give him/her your vote to put them into office. If you don't agree with that candidate, don't vote for that person. In this case, Romney has an idea to help parents monitor what their children see on television and promises, if elected to office, to pass such laws. Others, however, feel that it is not the networks' responsibility to worry about what children see, rather its the parents sole responsibility, and that this is unjust censorship, in violation of the first ammendment. Citizens who agree with this position would be wise to not vote for Romney. This would explain why he is promising to pass such laws.

There's the rub.

Cons want the government to allow anyone to pack a gun, but want the government to be tough on crime.

Cons luv the death penalty, but are against abortions.

Cons luv to spend billions on war, but complain if they get an increase in taxes. Where does the money come from?

Cons want to prevent liberals from protesting the war and exercising their free speech rights, but force children who are atheists to say the Pledge of Allegiance in class, stating "under G-d."

Cons state if you are against President Bush, you are unpatriotic, because he is our leader. However, the Cons held an 8-year witch hunt when Bill Clinton was President. And still the Cons say derogatory things about the former President of the US.

See the trend? Cons are only against big government when it suits their aims.

In response to menifeemaniac

maniac: “Cons want the government to allow anyone to pack a gun, but want the government to be tough on crime.”

Answer: Of course. Thieves aren’t afraid to break into your house when they know law abiding citizens can’t have guns but criminals can

maniac: "Cons luv the death penalty, but are against abortions."

Answer: This conservative believes all life is sacred. Life without parole is cheaper than putting someone to death anyway.

”Cons luv to spend billions on war, but complain if they get an increase in taxes. Where does the money come from?”

Answer: There are plenty of programs to cut. Life should not be a free ride.

maniac: ”Cons want to prevent liberals from protesting the war and exercising their free speech rights, but force children who are atheists to say the Pledge of Allegiance in class, stating "under G-d."”

Answer: I support your right to protest and my son is in Iraq supporting your right to protest. But, as a teacher I will not force anyone to “under G-d” but I will not be forced to delete those words when I say it.

maniac: ”Cons state if you are against President Bush, you are unpatriotic, because he is our leader. However, the Cons held an 8-year witch hunt when Bill Clinton was President. And still the Cons say derogatory things about the former President of the US.”

Answer: Libs pull the same crap when anyone says anything bad about Clinton. I don’t think you are unpatriotic to believe something different than me. I don’t believe conservatives call you unpatriotic. My son joined the army because he believes your rights are just as important as his and he is willing to put his life on the line for that belief just like the rest of the mostly conservative military.

maniac: ”See the trend? Cons are only against big government when it suits their aims.”

Answer: No. Don’t see the trend.

Like how Hillary Clinton and other Democrats want to pass laws to limit content in video games and television?

I thought you liked Romney's proposal. Can't have it both ways.
And, Republicans favor less laws. Both you and I know that so don't beat around the bush.
