Of course we are proud, not many Greek Cypriots are famous. We are a small but proud country, we do not have many famous names in the world. Our Marcos Baghdatis is one of them and we are all proud that one of our children is sweating to make us even more proud.
And we do not care about sex life of others, Mr Dellarovere. That is their choice and their life, we just acknowledge somebody's talent.
And I would like you can all come to Cyprus and celebrate with us EVERY victory of Greek athletes, to live with our people at the streets and wave Greek flags every time Greeks make a record or win in football or basketball. Have you ever seen our celebrations at your tv?

Do you seriously think that Greeks have nobody else to be proud of ?

He is not a particularly important person I think and there are many true Greeks we should be more proud of - (Maria Callas, Stelios Kazantzidis, Loukas Daralas, etc).

I'd be more proud of him if he did not hide his nationality.

I am a UK citizen, but I am very proud of and do not hide my Greek origins.

He is Greek Cypriot. Why would we be proud? Did he create something? Is he a great scientist, philosopher or artist? We have given Plato, Archimedes, Eucledes, Pythagoras, Sophocles, Maria Kallas, George Papanicolaou (Pap test), Vangelis, Costa Gavras, Herbert von Karajan, Gregory Peck, and many others to this world. I don't think George Michael is anywhere near what you should be to be a pride for Greece.
