Firstly, I hate the term senior. If one is old; one is old, and some PC euphemism doesn't change that. Secondly, I haven't noticed it's any better than history or philosophy or any of the others I go to first when I sign in. Thirdly, you have a nerve stating what kind of answer you want, and I am sure no old people here need you to patronize them.

What you say is true of most senior citizens, Dolly.
Maybe because stressed people die younger, leaving the nice contented ones like us to meander on. HaHa!
What nonsense, "only the good die young". But then again I know a lot of mean old bast*rds.
Seriously, I rarely think about age, I enjoy my life style, even though it is relatively quiet. And then, when something exciting does happen, I enjoy it even more.
I miss my salary and was never much of a saver, so retirement means tightening the belt considerably. But even that has its compensations, little things mean a lot more and I certainly appreciate a lot of life's gifts , which I had taken for granted before.
However I think that on the whole I prefer younger people's company. The modern topics keep my mind active and interested, whereas older people, myself included, do like to elaborate on their latest physical disabilities, as if dealing with illness were some kind of achievement.

i'm bowled over to confirm my very very own breed on that checklist (large Pyrenees). i understand maximum Pyrs are very human beings friendly, yet having suggested that I additionally understand they're territorial, very dominant and quite dogs aggressive. And on the tip of the day, they have been bred to guard inventory. nonetheless, i might by way of no ability evaluate it a risky breed. yet i assume that is going to instruct how ineffective BSL is. as much as i admire Pyrs i understand a Pyr interior the incorrect arms might nicely be a catastrophe. however the comparable is genuine of any dogs. i think of Pitts are at an unfair draw back by using fact no longer basically are a number of them owned by way of irresponsible proprietors (by using fact of their hard dogs photograph) yet they're additionally bred by way of some irresponsible BYB's inflicting some risky temperaments. regrettably there is income pitts for idiots who're prepared to shell out the money to have a hard dogs. i've got considered classified ads which boast approximately chew psi's and whatnot. we've a BSL in our city and that i'm on the fence approximately it. inspite of the certainty that i comprehend it particularly is surely no longer the animals fault, I do have confidence genetics play a functionality. And the irresponsible breeding of pitts for their "gameness" would not help. How do i understand each and every pitt is physically powerful? i do no longer. How do i understand another dogs on the line is physically powerful? i do no longer. And on the comparable time after the pitt, which dogs will or no longer it particularly is next? Rotts? Dobes? even according to hazard my loved Pyrs? @ Koters-Boters: i assume the Pug is lined interior the checklist considering it particularly is a short-confronted breed. The French Bulldog is likewise lined.

I didn't even realize there was such a section, thank you for putting me right. In my experience seniors are more qualified to give good advice as they have had a lifetime's experience. They have more sense of humour , generally speaking because, to get through that lifetime's experience they would have needed it. They know the best and the worst of people from personal experience and therefore are more tolerant and more understanding than many. I know many "seniors".Strangely, the "Boring old farts" seem to be somewhat younger. I am awarding you a star for your perspicacity.

I looked at you question and thought to myself, "Are there any seniors on this site, or all they all young people trying to figure us out?"

Then I open it and read your entire question... what a wonderful observation for you to write about. Thank you so much.

My husband and I are different about the people we are attracted to. I like young people. They are full of life and fresh views of the world. He likes older people. I often wondered why. They are old, can't get around as well as you, talk about the past too much... ya da ya da ya da. Now I understand. We have a lot to share!

I am so happy that you wrote that. It is actually opening my eyes to where I am at this point in my life. I'm 60 and I can't believe I'm really this old. I think I am still in my 30's or 40's.

Why thank you my child. I have been feeling rather decrepit recently, things seem to have been falling off all of a sudden, thankfully nothing too important! You have made me feel so much better. Hope you do not mind me taking this personally, but I will and I am off now to roll in the mud with the dog and run my grandson ragged at football in the rain. Many thanks and have a star.

In addition we get to hear Sylvia D's antics. They are priceless!
