Here are some: sorry not much into hip hop or country, but I'll try to help:

-More than a feeling (Boston)
-Handle with Care (Traveling Wilburys/ Jenny Lewis:a good cover)
-Blue (The Jayhawks)
-Back of my hand (The Jags)
-Rise up with Fists! (Jenny Lewis with Watson Twins)
-Garden Party (Rick Nelson- the song has a great backstory)

Hope it helps, these are all from my ipod..
Enjoy

Switchfoot is my favorite band (and always will be!) so here are a few songs that they do in no particular order:
Dare You To Move
Meant To Live
Only Hope
Learning To Breathe
Stars
Oh! Gravity.
Awakening
Head Over Heels
We Are One Tonight
Twenty-Four
Burn Out Bright

Ok, so that's a little more than a few, but oh well! Hope that helped! God Bless,
Nat

"Rebirthing", "The Last Night", "Comatose", "The Older I Get", "Whispers in the Dark", by Skillet. This is on their album "Comatose." These songs may sound like they're not exactly upbeat and uplifting, but trust me, they've got a great sound to them and they are AWESOME! ^_^

Also, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus! All their songs RULE!!
