Forgive me please if this is insulting, but the whole "they'll follow us home" thing sounds like one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Why would they have to wait for things to settle in Iraq to attack us? I'm sure they could spare a few guys. "They'll follow us home" is a ridiculous attempt to scare us all into backing a baseless war. What are they going to do hitch a ride over here on a transport plane with Delta force?

For anyone who thinks our quiting will make them bold remember that our being there has already given many who would not have quite the excuse to fight us.

Comrade the all knowing: If Osama was so encouraged and if he really did it, why haven't we gotten him. He is the one person I would be the most worried about if he did it.

You obviously have never heard about Saddam Hussein's secret plan to invade the United States in a combined operation of the mighty Iraqi Air Force and the powerful Iraqi Navy. Should the U.S. leave Iraq, remnants of the Republican Guard will immediately put this operation into place and within a year, American women will be wearing burkas, American schoolchildren will be praying 5 times a day while facing Mecca, and mosque attendance will be compulsory for all American males.

Yes, you're right. The whole "the'll follow us home" thing is one of the dumbest arguments ever proposed against withdrawing from Iraq.

I agree with you 100%.

Our presence there has very little to do with terrorism, and is not significantly reducing the threat of terorism in any way. A study came out that al-qaida are actually better off now than they were before. That is not keeping us safer.

Osama is free. That is not keeping us safer.

And do you really think were stopping them from coming here now? They don't need to wait until we leave. And if we leave, we'll have a better chamce of protectong ourselves because we can call on them and not worry about them not having to get on a plane and fly across the ocean and come help us.

I don't know, or care, if they will or not. Yes: I will admit that the United States should not keep its armed forces stationed all over the world in places that offends the locals. We had no business after the first Gulf War was over to remain in Saudi Arabia, Islam's 'holy land'. BUT, NOTHING CHANGES THE FACT that they (not the islamic people but the terrorists) attacked us and killed 3,000+ of my neighbors who had absolutely NOTHING to do with the decision to keep forces stationed there. Now, I WANT OUR FORCES THERE!! I want heads, and I want to stay there until every last one pays!! Was Bush an idiot to invade Iraq? That's up for debate, you decide. Is AlQueda in Iraq for sure now? Absolutely. I want all of them to pay and don't want to leave until every last one of them pays!! THEN AND ONLY THEN will I, as well as several other Americans should, demand of my government that we leave these people to live freely and out of our control. BUT NOT UNTIL ALL OF THESE EVIL TERRORISTS HAVE PAID FOR THEIR CRIMES!!! (By the way, if you think 9-11 was a conspiricy by our government, you're a moron but the very document our soldiers are fighting for gives you that right to be a retard, so enjoy your very freedoms you wouldn't have if the terrorists won.)

If we leave Iraq now, yes, there will be a power vacuum in the ME like never seen before. The enemy will be able to concentrate their efforts on striking us on our mainland rather than fighting us on foreign soil. Surely, you can see the big picture here?!?

Once we are out of Iraq, our enemies will redirect their forces towards attacking Americans where ever they can find them. It will be difficult for them to attack us here, but they can easily get into our country through our borders. I believe as you do that Bush's statement is a bunch of cr*p, because the majority of people fighting in Iraq will probably be busy killing each other for years when we leave. Good! Fanatical Muslims killing fantastical Muslims. We win!

if it wasn't so tragic, some of the answers would be funny. the "follow us home" pitch has lost its fire, and yet, some wing nuts still think osama and his Koran thumpin', terror enthusiasts are gonna get em. walk right up the front lawn and drag them from their houses. god save us from true believers...foreign and domestic.

Don't worry, once they see were and how we live, they will be more than happy to just run away in terror.

Man, are you disillusioned! They have already been here and you can bet your last dollar that there are cells in this country right this moment. If you are foolish enough to trust that these 'terrorists' won't be back for another strike, you're living in a fantasy world!
