I took california real estate principles in college, in 2003. I did not take the state exam, and it is 2007. Are my real estate principles still good to take the state exam, or will I have to retake principles to take the state exam?

Like any other set of rules and regulations, there are constantly developing changes. I find it impossible to believe that it remained the same as when you studied it 4 yers ago.
Buy the current books. Most licensure requirements are good for 3 years, beyond that a real estate agent must:
1. Take upgrading theory and practice updating courses (legal , math, tenancies, mortgages) with tests and pass them all.
2. Take applied courses , drafting the new forms of contracts, learn the new software, new ways of market evaluation. and pass it.
