If you've got some important files there, this works better:

It works like a fresh installation but quicker. All files and programs remain intact.

Yes inset the CD and start a COLD reboot
from power off mode

Press F8 on power up to get boot menu
select Boot from CD
(some pc's use F12)

Once CD loads Choose INSTALL NEW
You will have to Remove the existing Partition
and create a new Partition

Otherwise Windows will say
"A newer version of Windows has been detected"
and wont install

After the creation of the new partition it will Format
(takes forever)
then Install will begin

Enjoy

it will reboot a few times don't worry it will use HD
instead of CD
If you edit Bios to boot from CD
then you have to be Johnny on the spot to remove the CD
as soon as it starts first reboot
