You will never hear the real story, but he will be the featured broadcaster in a new "radio" venture that will be carried on the Internet and other 'modern' platforms. That is an opportunity that he couldn't pass up and I'm sure financially he will be making comparable dollars without the travel he has had to do with ESPN.
