No, you can't keep any number of any type of Goldfish in a 5.5 gallon tank. Fancy Goldfish grow to about 8 inches each. If such a large fish is left in a small tank, it will be stunted, that is, its body size will stay the same, but its internal organs continue to grow. This causes premature death in fish, it would cut off about 7 years of their 10 year life (they usually live longer than 10 years). A Betta and 4 Neon Tetras is the best option I can give you. If you have a way of getting a hold of them, the next best thing would be 3-6 Killifish (Rivulus punctatus is the best species for your situation). Good luck!

Only for a very short time. Ryukins will outgrow the tank very quickly (in a matter of months). If you want to keep these, a 20 gallon tank (or larger) with a filter would be a far better home for them.

no, i dont know why, but people always think that fancy goldfish are small.

Ryukins are one of the larger fancy goldfish types and will reach about 12-14 inches.

2 fancy goldfish need 55 gallons and a canister filter.
