I agree.
But the people of the US got what they wanted. When Al Gore ran, it seemed that rather than an articulate, intelligent person, they would rather have a president who "they could have a beer with."
When John Kerry, another educated person ran, in 2004, the American public would rather have elected someone who would "stay the course," rather than a "flip-flopper."
That's who they wanted, and that's what they got.
I wish I had a nickel for every time that Bush has flip- flopped, and I would not like to have a beer with a recovering alcoholic, so I, for one did not vote for him, and wouldn't vote for him.
The neighborhood is gone, because the people bought into the Fear, Uncertainty, and Doom that the Bushco, Inc. administration has pushed on everyone.
Yeah, there goes the neighborhood. Now we have a president who has trouble with multi-syllabic words.
It's going to be a hard row to hoe, but we MUST not make the same mistake again, and vote for a person who will help to build up our image as a leader of nations, and not the world's police.
I am proud to be an American, but I am so ashamed of my president, but then again, I never voted for him.

I'm not sure any of the 'world's leaders' are exactly top of the line these days. Sometimes I think we're getting the 'best of the worst'. There was a time when there were real 'leaders', though for the most part they nasty S.O.Bs. Kings and Khans, Shahs and Emperors...all kinds of people that actually gave orders that had to be obeyed. Later there democratically elected leaders that led by 'law'...not terribly efficient, but as long as the law was fair, most people were fairly happy. But a strange thing happened on the way to the 21st century.....massive corporations formed and like a large object in space their gravity began to attract political power to themselves. Presidents and prime ministers, congress' and parliments began to do the bidding of these unelected entities.....the 'economy' became more important than the welfare of the people the 'economy' was suppose to serve. George Bush is a good example of our new 'leaders'...he dosen't have to be articulate...all he has to do mumble words like, 'the economy' and we're all supposed to believe that all is well. What can I say...money talks...and you know what walks!

The only way G. W. would fit in is if there was a puppet show. That's what politicians are, puppets. They can't think for themselves. They pay someone else to do it for them. Or people pay them to help them make a choice.

to the person above me, it doesn't matter how many world leader meetings he's been to. just because he has been to quite a few doesn't mean that he fits in. i bet he looks so stupid among the others.

Well, political bigotry and sedition are alive and well.
This is our President. You hate him.
You don't just respectfully protest. I fought for that right for years for you. You have to name-call and otherwise treat our elected representatives publicly in the worst way you can.
You don't just argue the issues, dissent on policy. You make personal attacks as if you are somehow superior to other people.
That's contemptible. That behavior does merit to no one.
Yes, you have free speech. So do I. That's what allows me to say, "Keep speaking up, otherwise you won't learn better. But until you do learn better, and actually understand why patriots don't do such things, expect us to answer you."

He has been "fitting in" at world leader's meetings for 6 ½ years. Where have you been?
