The firings of these prosecutors have more to do with prosecutions for election fraud. This is a very serious inquiry into wrongdoing that may affect the 2008 elections. The prosecutors who were fired were not prosecuting enough Democrats and/or were prosecuting too many Republicans. I’m also concerned about the prosecutors who didn’t get fired. Were they towing the Bush administration line, letting Republicans slide, and thereby got to keep their jobs?

You are so far off base, you are not even in the ball park. The GOP did not fire anyone. No judges were fired. The President fired US attorneys. These are political appointments and the President has the legal right to fire them. He does not have to have a reason. The Congress is on a witch hunt, harassing the Administration with investigations...solely to try to gain political points.
We have a separation of powers section in the US Constitution. Congress is overstepping its bounds by picking on the Administration. The President is asserting his rights and does not have to submit to a witch hunt.

Just as important, why don't the dems do the same & allow all records of anyone who visited their offices be public & all their strategies for how they are using this for political gain?
Why didn't they just change the law back to what it was before the patriot act & go back to having oversight? This could have been finished in a week & we would have been protected from future presidential abuses on this matter.
They depend on partisan suckers like yourself to only hear what they tell you.

What judges? Nobody fired any judges. 6 attorneys were fired. Perfectly legal. When Clinton fired every last one of them when he took office nobody says boo. When Bush fires 6 of them the Dems make a big federal case out of it. It would be funny if it wheren't so pathetic.

It's not the GOP as a whole -- it's Bush and his dream (or delusion) of the "unitary executive". He believes that the president is supreme above all other branches of govt, and has the ability to ignore federal laws at will.
The sad thing is, Congress is letting him get away with it, which is inherently destructive to the balance of power in this country.

The GOP's rationale is that they won't let officials speak about the judges' firings, because they don't have anything to hide.
Its very funny, because some people agree with them in this way of thinking.

Pssssst. They were U.S. Attorneys who serve at the pleasure of the President of the US. Bill Clinton fired 96 US attorneys all at once...One of them, by the way was investigating Clinton himself when fired. Mr. Bill replaced that attorney witrh one of his former law students.....So what was it you were saying?

GOP is careful about firing judges and they will not comment as it could affect their campaign.
