Lets say in the near future, what eventually will distinguish a civilian from a terrorist is a chip. The purpose is to catch terrorists and protect the populace from them. Those without the chips are automatically considered terrorists. Lets say the decision to chip all Americans for their own protection is due to a declared state of national emergency caused by a catastrophic terrorist attack.

This really isn't that far fetched.

If the time comes to put a chip in your body, and all those that resist and refuse to have a chip in their body are marked down as terrorists, would you submit?

The label of terrorist won't matter. I give you scenario#1...you either accept this chip or you starve to death and watch your family do the same because you can't purchase anything and have no credit or records. Or scenario#2...if you don't have the chip you don't get the cure to some disease they release to cleanse the nation of "non patriots". We will likely have a war to fight against Iran and other countries, how many intend to volunteer to fight that war? The 9/11 tactic to get us into Iraq & Afghanistan didn't completely work in convincing people to "fight terrorism". Either way, with the chip, it can and may be done, you better learn how to live off the land if you're not getting the chip! Things are going to get messed up around here in most of your lifetimes, you better get ready now while you can since nobody's fighting the real enemy, the US gov't and big US companies.

the bible supposidly warns against this and in many respects the current capitalistic society is already a representation of evil and satan... and i know the technology is in the making for this chip stuff. I'm not a religious person really (i only went to sunday school through confirmation because my mom made me) but i know that nobody is putting an f' ing chip in me anywhere. i'd move to another country...
i would hope everybody else would too...we wouldn't need to submit all of our freedoms to some make shift big brother tracking device. If the country was that unsafe i certainly wouldn't feel any safer with some gps unit in my arm.
i hope it never comes down to something like that...actually i hope that the already corrupt republicans AND democrats never have the audacity to think that they could impose such a flagrant civil rights violation such as that.

The chip thing is even less far-fetched than you think. In the near future, your 'identity' could be placed on said chip, so it can't be 'stolen.' With the alternative being no credit, and no job, you wouldn't even /have/ to label people terrorists to get them lined up for the chip.

Scared, now?

No?

OK, how 'bout this: the bible /predicted/ that! Yeah, the "number of the beast" is the chip, see, and that means the Apocalypse is coming. (I know, before it was the social security number, but that didn't pan out, then it was the bar code, whatever, the end is still near, honest).

An American chip would cause a LOT of unrest in the Christian community since it's hypothesized that a chip implanted in the body would be the mark of The Beast. If politicians don't want to touch the issue of illegal immigration because any explicit action in the matter would no doubt offend millions of latinos, can you imagine the backlash that would ensue if anyone tried doing THIS? Nasty, nasty business...

Not looking to be "chipped" - in the eventuality that this occurs, guess we'll have to test the definition change between "terrorist", or "freedom fighter"

We refuse to even have a national ID card. You're being silly. Will the illegal aliens get these chips?

We can't even have a national ID card and that makes sense. ACLU will keep your idea in the courts for 25 years. Won't happen.
