Politicians get media attention when they propose something that sounds good, but the media tends to avoid following up on these proposals once they are made law and receive funding. This encourages lawmakers to focus on the beginning, but shy away from giving details of the success of the program, because they draw criticism from opponents during the next election.

Unfortunately we have a group of ignoramuses in Washington running our country. They are more concerned with their own positions, power, pensions, health plans than they are with the American people. Furthermore, Republicans hate Democrats and visa-versa. It is absurd that these numb sculls are in our Congress. Comes 2008 and we will vote in additional dickheads who may be even worse than what we have. And we blame Iraq for having a screwed up government.

The constitution set up our government in such a way as to avoid trampling on the rights of the people, or otherwise doing anything too abominably wrong or stupid.
Aparently, lately, our politicians can't think of anything to do that isn't abominably wrong and/or stupid, and doesn't trample our rights.
If they ever do come up with something, it should sail right through.
