I still haven't seen proof. I've checked around, but I still haven't seen any media showing Soldiers being booed, jeered, or spat upon when coming back from their tours or, unfortunately, lost their lives for this country by those who disagree with the war. I continue to see rhetoric.
Go ahead with the insults as well, it only shows I'm right...

worm: These are protest. Good or bad, they are PROTESTS. I did not see one of a THOUSAND images of an AMERICA citizen spitting on an American SOLDIER. By the way, how come there were no pictures of PEOPLE PROTESTING ABORTION IN A SIMILAR FASHION? That's just as shameful...

marcon: Refusing to see someone is not spitting on someone. Should I state bush spit on me because he wouldn't come talk to the NAACP during one of his campaigns?

lillycoo: Congress wanted bush to come up with benchmarks or strategy before giving him any money. That is what the bill was. Congress NEVER stated they would NOT give Soldiers money at all...

Does anyone knows what "spitting" is? Do people disagree with the war? YES. But disagreeing DOES NOT MEAN SPITTING. IT DOES NOT MEAN WHEN A SOLDIER CAME BACK, THEY PERSONALLY BOOED THEM. You're only proving my point...

I am not a democrat but pretty liberal, and I LOVE my soldier (in ways that are inappropriate to describe here, HA!)and I care about all the soldiers. Being that I live on one of the largest (Ok THE largest) Army bases in the world, I see soldiers every day --they are my neighbors and friends. Some support the war some don't (though they would never admit that publicly) but they will do what they are told to do regardless of personal belief (and most of them will pour their heart and soul into it as well) They are taught to be proud, strong, brave, and most of all obedient to their country. And though I am not a staunch supporter (not a supporter at all, really) of this war, I respect and admire the things that these soldiers do every day, at home and overseas. Tell me I hate soldiers and I will call you a liar. I am a proud Army wife.
P.S. If you want to talk about people not appearing at events for wounded and deceased soldiers, how about the notably absent G.W.B and Dick C. at the opening of the Center for the Intrepid, a privately funded Rehabilitation clinic at BAMC at Fort Sam in San Antonio TX, for wounded veterans of wars....hmmm can I get a side of guilt with that?

I have a cousin in the Army who has been spit on by his base. However, we are all liberals and my cousin himself is extremely so (he will follow orders, but understands what is going on).
However, I think it is too broad base a generalization to make of people. I think it a very small sect of people who do such things. I would not label them conservative nor liberal, but rather anti-war zealots.

I would ask you to verify what US Senator refused to meet with the Gold Star mothers of her state - the ONLY member of Congress who so refused - then YOU judge!

Haditha. The way some liberals instantly glom onto any story about atrocities as if they were fact is proof that they hate our troops.

I think Murtha's rush to judgment on the marines shows not hatred, but a form of contempt.
