The theory of evolution is just that, a theory. It's a best guess based on the scientific knowledge we have. If you look at the Bible, the story of creation is just that, a story. No one was there for the creation of life, the universe and everything. Perhaps the way God created the world was the Big Bang and perhaps the way all creatures were created was through evolution. I don't understand why it has to be theology OR science. I personally thing they are both explanations for the same things, just in a different language.

Science fiction's maybe not the term; sci-fi is generally based on as yet non-existant innovations, but they have solid hypothetical principles behind them. For example, Star Trek's warp speed barrier, which when broken allows the traveller(s) to occupy the entire universe simultaneously; we don't call it warp speed, but it has been hypothesised that at a certain speed, we could be everywhere.

Whereas I think your point is 'Is evolution a load of tosh?' ... to which my reply is no, I believe it is fact that is dictated by logical evidence as we know it; however, it does assume constants and, if just one or two of these were faulty, it would cast reasonable doubt over the legitimacy of evolution.

However, when you closely look at what it says, it doesn't mean that life is random, just that it mutates and adapts. Life beginning isn't random either; our best idea is that it is a natural occurrence due to the chemical reactions that took place early in earth's cycle.

I think the idea of someone upstairs deciding to make us all one day is a lot more random and preposterous.

Why did all the humans evolve the EXACT same if evolution is determined by survival of the fittest? Kind of funny how all human have all the same body parts after millions of years yet every OTHER animal evolved different from their cousin....

According to the bible it's not plausible, but it's hard to deny the evidence that supports the theory. Just remember that's it's only a theory and not a scientific law.
I really don't want to say it's real because of my religious beliefs.

I think some species have adapted over many years, but I don't believe completely new species have formed from others.

Ex. - I believe that snow hares have adapted so that their fur changes to white in winter for protection, but I don't think humans evolved from chimpanzees.

I don't believe it. I believe in creation and a Creator. Intelligent design makes much more sense to me than a random occurrence.

Yes. I think the idea of God is so unacceptable to some that science had to come up with another explanation.
