Yes, Catholics are the "only real" Christians (according to the Catholics) and I have a 30-something cousin (with a college degree) that says (and continued to argue) that Catholics are NOT Christians.
There must be some christian churches teaching against Catholics. That is the only way these "nice" christians can believe that Catholics are not Christians. I am from a mixed family. Dad's family = Catholic; Mom's family = Protestant.
The Protestants (the non-catholic christians) have only been around since about 1500 (King Henry VIII of England started the Anglican Church = first non-catholic christian church) so the Protestant christians are only responsible for wars since then.... that would make the Catholics worse.
I vote the Catholics are worse than Protestants.
Just change the word "christian" in your question to "Protestants" and your question will not generate so many "Caths = Christians" answers. But I think you are not the only one to think that. =]
If you believe in Love, and you believe that God is Love (I JOHN 4:16) then yes, God does exist. When all people can "love and forgive" each other for all their "perceived lawlessness", then we will all be Christians and we can all be every religion and therefore we can also all be NO RELIGION. Then you and I would be on the same side.

Catholic people are Christians.
First, the Catholic Church encourages scientific development unless it kills.
Also, there is corruption in other faiths too-I hear about it all the time, the Catholic Church is also, the biggest church so, we have more priests and therefor get more publicity that other churches for corruption.
Delphi: the Pope did NOT say that Catholic people are the only Christians. He said the Catholic Church is the only church without defects. To not say this would be hyppocritical and would be like saying abortion is wrong but, also ok. The Catholic church believes that you are a Christian if you follow the teachings of Christ.

Actually, I thought that Catholics were Christians! Don't lay all the blame on the Catholics, though. After all, there are Protestants in the US who want to ban Harry Potter books in school libraries and keep Darwin's theory from being taught. Not only that, but there have also been reports of Protestant ministers abusing children, though we don't hear much about that.

Catholics are Christians. Is just different denominations like Protestant, Evangelical, Pentecostal, or Baptist. You are obviously an anti-Catholic, the KKK would love to have you since they hate Catholics too. The Vatican has an observatory, they encourage science. Not all priests are molesters. You really need to stay away from this place.

Look at Islam for example ... it's supposed to be about peace, but then you have fanatics twisting it and murdering thousands of innocent people.
