I want to add some thing to explain yet revealing in this sentence ...

it means that though therapy may not last long a lot is revealed about its members in a short sesson.

How about if I write it a slightly different way:-
"group therapy is a fast BUT revealing....."
OR
" ..although group therapy is fast, it does reveals a lot..."
"yet .." is used in a similar way to "..but" to indicate a kind of contradiction in terms.
Fast yet revealing.
( you would think Fast would be superficial or shallow)
What you are saying in street terms is something like:-
" Hey man, that thing may be fast but let me tell yah, it sure opened my eyes in a hurry!" or something like that.
You can use the yet in similar ways:-
She is fat, yet kinda cute.
He is ugly, yet strangely attractive.
This is so bad, yet sooooo gooood!
Get the contradiction.
I'm no English major and my explanation is a bit rambling but I think you get the picture.

The person is saying that group therapy is helping everyone quickly with the same problems, and the the results are noticeable.
