Is the Greyhound bus station in downtown Las Vegas?

It is located on South Main Sreet. Is that downtown? If not, how far is it from there or the strip?

The greyhound station is just off of Fremont street and is what locals consider downtown. The Strip is Las Vegas Blvd.

There is the North part- Fremont street- Lady Luck, Golden Nugget, El Cortez, Mainstreet Station- all the old hotels.

The South part- newer hotels- Wynn, Ceasars, Mirage, Treasure Island, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, etc. This end is about 8-10 miles south from the bus station.

And I agree hold onto your things and get to your hotel as soon as possible by taxi. The area is nasty.

It's downtown Las Vegas. The Strip is in unincorporate townships of Clark County, south of Sahara Avenue. It's about four miles distance. But, you can walk the five blocks from Greyhound to Las Vegas Blvd. and catch "The Deuce" (the Strip double decker bus) which runs 24/7.

These reviews are not exaggerated or untruthful. Even all was okay once you had got to your destination its all an ugly sight- maybe not the lights and tinsel but the shady undergrowth. I was directed to go to the greyhound to catch yet another bus and I think no way; no way. I was there years ago but its gotten much more dangerous now. Way I see it is if amtrak doesn t go to where I need to and I can t fly there greyhound is already out anyway. As far as this whole area, a man with a conscience who I happened to ask directions on foot from, just up from the Cortez on LV Bl by The Griffin. adds, "Oh, be sure to not turn down THAT street, its a real bad one." I forget which now, but I took his advice.

Yuck the downtown bus terminal is a hellhole. you're about 6 miles from the actual Strip. Keep your eyes open and never let your stuff out of your sight. downtown Vegas is a cesspool.
