Because of my bad nerves, my righting is horrible. So can I use my Dell 1100 and 810 printer for letters and envelope printing ? If so, I hope it's not to complicated. I am only 6 months old (pc wise). Thanks

Well, you actually need the PC, too (normally).

I wouldn't rule it out completely, but I've never heard of a printer that you can hook a keyboard to without a computer.

If you have a pc as well, you just need to use word processing software, and then print it out. (usually by choosing FILE/PRINT in the toolbar of your word software.)

Most operating systems come with some type of simple word processor, and you can download a MS Office alternative from www.openoffice.org for free if you don't have one.

Somewhere in your PC is a great word-processing program. There are several kinds [I'm not familiar with what Dell puts in theirs] and most of them work about the same. It's like a Heavenly Angelic Typewriter Machine with all kinds of easy-peasy features...imagine being able to underline a whole sentence with 2 clicks of your mouse! Imagine being able to put significant words in red or blue! Imagine being able to get rid of mistakes with a couple of clicks... Imagine being able to move whole paragraphs with a single bound!

Once you start your very first-ever word processor document, take a good close look at the bar on top...it will have helpful items [format, symbols for putting stuff in bold type or italics, etc.] and you can experiment, play, goof off...PRACTICE while you play...and then hit 'print' [up on the bar is a little icon that looks like an itty-bitty printer] and voila, something will come out of your printer. Honestly, it will!

So go ding around...nothing you can hurt, nothing you can't erase or change or make bigger or smaller...just go for it! And if you want to get serous, there's always one of those books...like "Word-processing for dummies" for instance, and you can REALLY smart!

Yes you can of course type up documents using word, notepad and so on. You can also make envelopes as long as you learn how to do it or have a program that will show you where to fold and such.
