Follow who you like. Don't take any advice. You will always love the team you follow. Doesn't make any difference if it's local or good or bad or anything. Once having chosen the Red Sox, real all about them, learn their history, learn baseball history, and have tons of fun.

Yes whatever team you want to like is good. They have a great rivalry between the Yankees, will win games and get to the playoffs, and are televised a lot even if you are not from the Boston area. I like the White Sox. They are not so good but you got to have pride. I've been a White Sox fan since I was born. But follow any team you'd like. The Red Sox have many likeable players but as a Red Sox fan, you need to have one commitment: you have to HATE the Yankees. That's just how it goes. If you like the Yankees, you must HATE the Red Sox.

I could be completely biased and say YES because I am a Red Sox fan, but if you are seriously looking to become a fan, your area's "home" team is the best way to go. If you live in a state that doesn't have a team, then try following the team your local newspaper follows or if one of your parents (or close friend) is a fan of the game try rooting for their team. If you truly want to be a Sox fan though, feel free, just make sure you remain faithful and cheer for them through the good and the bad.

I'm a Red Sox fan, and yes they're a good team to follow because they are usually a winning team, have a lot of history, amazing fans, and great players. But of course, on here, you're gonna get all the haters (Yankee Fans), or fans from other teams who think there team is the best, so its really up to you to decide which team to follow. You didnt say if you lived near Boston, but if you do, its a great feeling to be in the huge fanbase called "Red Sox Nation" where almost everyone is a big fan.

Why not find out who your friends like, or the people at work or school, so you can talk about the games with them and learn more. Also, you will have to pick a team whose games are broadcast in your area, so you can watch them. So the local team is probably the way to go.

Follow whatever team you like. It's not about if they are a good team, it's about if you like the team and players and will still like them if they go 0-166. It's up to you, I say that as a loyal Blue Jays fan.
