Are these reasons adequate for filing a divorce or requesting an annulment:

1) Husband is a chronic gambler.
2) He is unemployed and does not help pay the bills.
3) Threatened to attack wife with kitchen knife.
4) Takes control of his wife's car after his own has been recalled for late payments.
5) Borrowed a $100,000 loan based on forging wife's signature for a joint agreement with the bank.
6) Frequent disputes between the couple; a clear indication of incompatibility.

The wife is supporting the entire family including her husband with only one job. Since he is such a useless bum, how can she get rid of him?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Husband does not want a divorce, he is depending on his wife. This situation has been going on for 3 years. The unhappy marriage must come to an end.

Would get an attorney first, then a PFA and get away from this person worst I have ever heard. Have attorney check into this falsification of loan so you do not get saddled with it, and he gets charged with fraud. RUn Run like the wind

You left out who long you've been Married... And which state you got married in... Talking to a Lawyer is best... If you've been Married for UNDER 60 to 90 days and you just don't like him get a Lawyer and file Annulment... If you've been married for 10 to 12 months and you have proof of him Sleeping with another Person get a Lawyer and File Annulment...Also can suit for civil action in some states against him and the person that damaded your marriage... Yes the other person is lible also... If its over and past most time frames Just call a Lawyer File Suit for Divorce and Leave... Or Leave then file... If he signs and you don't have fight over stuff time frame is 25 days to 60 days depending on your state and filing system.... If you have to fight over Stuff takes as long as you both can't come to a settlement,,, Both of you have to sign when there is stuff to fight over... Then ask God for forgiveness,,, Tell the whole story,,, Talk it out with Family,,,,, Good Luck....

She needs to get a lawyer and force the issue. No doubt she will have to leave the home since it doesn't sound like this jacka$$ gets it. At all.

An annulment won't work because the marriage has probably been consummated. If it's a Catholic Annulment - you need a civil divorce before the canon lawyers will look at a spiritual annulment.

most states these days have what is called no fault divorce - in other words, you don't need grounds other than wanting to be divorced. States that don't have no-fault divorce, require legal separation for a year (you file for separation in court and must follow the provisions for a year before the divorce can be finalized without having "grounds")

I agree with BR if he has been breaking the law, get him prosecuted, dont pay his bail and then serve him divorce papers. As easy as taking out the trash.

Yes, I would have that loan document inspected and proven a forgery then I would have his rear thrown in jail, he won't have to worry about being unemployed there.

I would imagine threatening to attack wife with a knife is reason enough.

all she would have to do is go to the police about the phony signature. you don't really have to have a reason to get divorced.
