It depends what month in 2001 it was first registered, and possibly the type of transmission.

If it was first registered in January or February 2001, it will be taxed according to engine size. The 1.6 Mégane falls into the the "Over 1549cc" bracket, so will be £99 for 6 months, or £180 for 12 months.

If it was first registered from 1st March 2001 it will be taxed according to CO2 emissions.
For a Mégane 1.6 16v manual its CO2 emissions should be 165g/km (162 for the coupé), which puts it in tax band D, £77 for 6 months or £140 for 12 months.
For a Mégane 1.6 16v automatic, its CO2 emissions should be 175g/km (169 for the coupé), which puts it in tax band E, £90.75 for 6 months or £165 for 12 months.

I've been on the DVLA website it's £99 for 6 months for 1.6 litres and over.

i think its 99 quid for 6 months not sure for a full year.
