Without question. My first exposure to Olbermann (I don't have cable; I watch Countdown segments online) was those very funny Boston Market commercials where he tells the models to "eat something."
What's interesting about Olbermann is that he's one of the few people on television who can combine the serious (his "pontificating") with the humorous (after all, he does do "Oddball" and "Worst Persons in the World" every night as well).
Heck, he even managed to go head-to-head with Colbert in one of the Report's funniest interviews:
Colbert: Why do you have a problem with my hero, Papa Bear Bill O'Reilly?
Olbermann: Well, Stephen, he's an idiot.
Colbert: You say that like it's a bad thing. I think he sees the world simply, unimpeded by facts.
Olbermann: We're both saying the same thing: he's an idiot.

He is funny, but we need his pontificating just the same, especially today's extraordinary rant against the Bush Administration's "stab in the back" strategy, the ploy made famous by the German military whose incompetence lost World War I. The "stab in the back" was supposedly administered by Jews in the German army and Socialists, who somehow undermined the German army's ability to win the war. Sound familiar? Keith's outrage today was a thing of beauty.

Your question assumes a falsity---ie, that KO ever stops pontificating. Colbert is far more enjoyable (although KO might be more inane, stupid, funny in that sense).

He's the smartest guy in the room. He and Dan Patrick were a riot together in their days on ESPN -- the best combination of its kind ever.
