It seems as though Bush can do whatever he wants. He refuses (or so it seems) to give pardon to two border patrol agents who shot an illegal trying to smuggle drugs into the US. That is pathetic. This administration has lied, deceived, and destroyed the middle class. Yet the American people don't seem to care very much, pop culture - sex, celebrities, and parties is all they want. I am making a generalization, I know not all of you are like that, but it's an accurate generalization.

One last story to keep in mind. Several decades ago there was a protest in New York because some subway station raised the price by one cent. Everyone went ahead and protested there the next day.

Bush's administration has destroyed the country in every possible way, and where is the protest?

Yes, people give Bush negative ratings online, big deal! What the US needs is millions of people marching on the streets protesting to impeach Bush. That will get attention. That is called doing something!

Just because you are in the middle class and are doing better doesn't mean the same can be said about the middle class as an entity. And you mention biasness? Interesting..

There's nothing to protest except the Democrat back-stabbers in Congress.

"IF" you ever get a job, you'll find out that the Middle Class is doing GREAT, because of Bush's Tax Cuts.
Many of us Lower Class have now moved up into the Middle Class, thanks to Bush.

Get a job, and cash in on this Great Economy.
(It won't last long after we get a Democrat President and a Democrat Congress in 2008. Too late to get a job then, honey.)

This question pops up almost daily... Again... Where ? And for what ? You listen to the mainstream media far too much.

This administration has lied, deceived, and destroyed the middle class.

I'm middle class. I'm fine, actually better than 7 years ago. So are all my Friends. Oh, and the economy. Pay closer attention to the numbers, not the bias.

Lied? About? Are you talking about WMDs? Old news. Sadam clearly had them. WMD is not limited to nuclear weapons you know. He used them (chemical) on his own people. Where did they go? Iran like the fighters at the start of the war. But you never hear about those anymore.

Vary your sources of news and information.

Why are people not protesting on the streets? Without addressing the question / concern about protesting our president., many Americans have become lazy and complacent. Too many people know and can recite who won every superbowl for the last 10 years, or what every celebrity wore to the oscars. Too bad that the football players or the movie stars cannot affect your life the way that your congressmen can.

So you want to effectively protest? Recently, members of congress were lamenting that conservative talk radio affectively killed the Immigration Reform Bill (amnesty for illegals bill). How, talk radio only brought the bill to the attention of the people. It was then people all over the country who started writing and calling their senators, urging them to vote no on the bill. The congressional telephone switchboard was overloaded, and many call could not get through. emails were sent. hundreds of thousands of them. Our representatives cannot ignore that kind of communication. This is the way we protest today.

By the way, writing or emailing President Bush willprobably not get you anywhere, as he is leaving office soon.

Because it's effort. In a society where you can get instant gratification it is simply too much bother to stand up for something which requires organisation, time and patience for a result to happen. People will take any amount of rubbish as long as it does not affect their daily lives; as long as they can worship their celebrities and/or God, eat their junk food, shoot their guns and drive their enormous cars in peace.

Of course mess with any of them and you're in BIG trouble. Anything else - regardless of how precious previous generations found it - is fair game.

You are also forgetting of course that the Iraq war saw the biggest protests in human history. Cities around the world were PACKED with protesters who practically shut the city down. And Bush, Blair and some of their blind followers payed ABSOLUTELY no attention. They went ahead anyway.

This proves that unless it's election time (or unless you make a 'donation' [read bribe]) your government does not give a damn what you think. You are meaningless. A nothing. Without a voice.

I think you can leave Bush out of this....... We the people are just to comfortable to protest anything. Multiple vehicles, homes, and excesses. Wages are up, taxes are down, and only the poor are suffering. You're not going to buy a Hummer to traverse city streets then protest or leave it at home when gas prices go up. We as a Nation are fat, lazy, prone to believing anything the press or government tells us without question. Protest? Heck I'd have to take a day off work to do that....and I have a house payment to make.

You seem to be confused, I am middle class and President Bush's tax plan has saved me allot of my hard earned money. Why should he pardon someone for shooting another person. When you use the terms "this administration" and "lied, deceived, and destroyed the middle class", I think you confused Bush with Clinton.

I heard it all summed up once. People in other countries aren't afraid of their government..the government is afraid of them. The government wants to appease the public to keep protests to a minimum. However, in the United States the public is afraid of the government. This gives the government enormous power. People are too afraid that they'll be killed, go to prison, and many worry that it won't change anything. I think that we could learn sooo much from the hippies. I mean, yes they did make bad choices, but they believed that they could make a difference, and when they all banned together..they did!!

Oh, you are so right ,and I wonder the same thing. In my city, we have had an ongoing protest since before the war, on the same corner every Tuesday from 4-6:30 and it's always the same people who come. I can't help but wonder, where is the outrage? People should be in the streets banging pots and pans in anger!
I share your frustration and puzzlement. Keep up the fight!

Oh, and to "Juicy" above me...Heard of Viet Nam? That evil war was stopped largely because of the protests of everyday Americans who got out into the street and made their voices heard loud and clear, and changed public opinion about the war.

They are too busy attending funerals. Familys in mourning are trying to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives when dad, mom, son, daughter, sister or brother comes home in a bag or with parts missing.
