It depends where you live, but I would say on average that a 1/2 hour guitare lesson should cost about $15-$45. If you want a private teacher to come to your house- 1/2 hour should cost around$30-$45. If you go to a studio where several people teach( depending on quality) about $15 for 1/2 hour (average) for a good teacher, and $30 to $45 for excellent. A word of caution though, if you want a teacher to come to your house- the teacher will usually want to do an hour lesson. The price all depends on how far they half to drive and how many other people in your neighborhood that the teacher is teaching. Mine were $45 for an hour, but my teacher had to drive a good distance for only me. If you want good flexibility, or to take of around holidays, I would not reccommend going to a highly qualified studio because it is usually a fixed rate paid before the lessons start and you pay for the weekly lesson whether you are there or not for the weekly contract., so there is absolutely no flexibility and you can't rescedule for another day ( I learned this the hard way!) Finnaly(phew) haha.., the guitar is a really rewarding instrament and I wish you the best. ♥♥Bubblegum

I think it depends to some degree on the teachers ability and location. The reason I say location is because some of the other answers say things like £10 an hour. In London however I've found it to be around to be anywhere between £20-£45 an hour depending on the teacher. If by chance you live in London that's what you're looking at.

it doesnt always depend on how good you teacher is,some places charge alot and have crappy teachers.i got lucky and had a good teacher,i think they charged 90$ for four lessons and had better deals the moer lessons that you buy.one bit of advice do some research before buy and make sure you get teacher who plays the kind of music you like, otherwise he's crammin a bunch of stuff you dont wanna be jammin.

on average, a good teacher would cost anywhere from $40 to $65 an hour. This is all relative, as it depends where you live and how experienced the teacher is.
