Oprah endorsing Barack Obama?

Is anyone else outraged by this? What the hell is she doing? I dont understand why she's agreeing to hold a fundraiser for him. Honestly to me is looks like black people standing up for other blacks regardless of their policies and thats not right. Ive always respected Oprah but lately shes become a joke. Can someone explain to me what they think the consequences, either positive or negative, will come from this publicity stunt?

Wow, Im going to delete this question if people dont stop accusing me of not liking Barack Obama. I do not like him or dislike him. This isnt a personal issue like many of you are making it out to be.

There is sooooo NOTHING "special" about him, at least, nothin so significant that puts him above anyone else; and if black people, MY people, think that he is the so-called next "black-leader", or think he is some kinda "upgrade" from J. Jackson/ A. Sharpton...then, they/we honestly dont have a remote CLUE as to what a REAL revolutionary black leader is.

I think that she is endorsing him because he is a friend and a fellow parishoner (they attend the same church) and he expounds on many of the beliefs that she herself holds--isn't that what we all do? Endorse and vote for those that uphold the beliefs that we want to see in office? How is what she does any different than any other American? Could it be because she is rich, powerful, and you don't like her "endorsee"?

***I apologize for the assumption that you didn't like him, however the "any one else outraged" and "what the hell" and "black people standing up for black people regardless of policies" made it clear he wasn't your favorite. I also assumed you would know that if she were just "standing up for black people" she would've endorsed Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson when they were on the presidential bandwagon. My bad.

Money that's whats going on and some say its the root of all evil. lets hope its not so in this case and there pulling together for the good of all of us but i think ill go with a different candidate.(same goes for Hillery)By the way what happens to the left over money from their campaigns?And is Oprah muslim?

Oprah is using her money to show the American people just how power full she is, when she built her school in Africa she said that she don't have to answer to any white people about where she spends her money, she has to remember that it's mostly the white people that watch her and it's the white people that made her rich. I have a problem with Barack Obamas name, when he was in collage he used his American name. will I vote for him No Way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is it that you're upset that oprah, a woman who is in the public eye but has no official title is endorsing a politician? or is it because she likes obama?

i see no reason why she shouldn't endorse who she likes. she's a free woman just like the rest of us. more importantly, she has no conflict of interest involved--she's not bound by any claim to be objective.
