Require two numbers that multiply to give 6 and add to give 5.
These numbers are 3 and 2:-
(x + 3) (x + 2)
Check
x (x + 2) + 3 (x + 2)
x² + 2x + 3x + 6
x² + 5x + 6 (as required)

I have not factored in a really long time but I believe it would look like this
(x+3)(x+2)
first - x times x = x squared
outside - 2x
inside - 3x
Combine outside and inside because they are alike = 5x
last - 3 times 2 = 6
This gets you back to squared + 5x + 6
double check because I'm not 100% sure this is right!! Good luck!

x^2+5x+6 = (3 + x)(2 + x)
if you work backwards and foil, you'll see it works out:
==>6+3x+2x+x^2
==>6+5x+x^2
==>x^2+5x+6
