I've never seen nice clip-ons, other than hoops

Magnets make your ears go numb, if they don't fall off. I have that many odd magnets I could start a magnet earring orphanage.

My sister has hers pierced, and reckons the only way she would know if she was wearing earrings (if she forgot) would be to feel for them or look in the mirror.

The idea of being able to have a tiny pair of gold balls, with no pain or itch at all, no need to worry if one had fallen off yet, and without the dull ache/redness you get after a couple of hours with magnets is really appealing, especially if I could just leave them in there all the time.

Thing is, I don't know whether she is telling the truth, or is telling me bull to persuade me to get them done.

Obviously getting the holes poked is not going to be totally painless, and they may be sore for a while, but after that are they really so comfortable you don't even feel them?

Is it possible to be pierced with real balls?

is it worth it?

I had a lot of problems when I had my ears pierced. But after about a couple of months the infections died down and they are fine. If I wear the small wire dangling earrings I can feel them when I move my head. The posts (or studs) I don't feel and can forget about them. I can lay on them wrong and the post will poke me in the neck and I will wake up, but most of the time I don't even notice I have them on.

When my son was a baby, he loved shiny things. I had to stop wearing them because he would yank on them, and that hurt! But I still can't feel them.

Yeah, people aren't being honest with you exactly. It hurts when you get them pierced, but it's worth the pain. The pain is kind of like getting a shot or getting blood drawn, but a tad worse than both of those. Then your ears are sore for a couple weeks. Once the wounds heal, you can't feel the earrings at all. You feel them if you have really heavy ones on, which is mildly uncomfortable and you also feel them when you lay down. If you've got stud earrings on and you lay down sometimes the post will poke your head behind your ear if you get your head in that position on your pillow. That hurts a little, but you can just adjust so you aren't poking yourself.

Bottom line, get them pierced! It's worth the pain and so convienient!

I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 28 years old. LOL I was so afraid it would hurt...I didn't feel a thing when it happened. I am so happy that they're pierced now, as I have endless choices of what kinds of earrings I can wear. I was given a selection of earrings to choose from before I was pierced. It's easy and you should go for it. You can always find surgical steel posts or gold posts if you have skin problems. I have occasional irritation, but I just use the ear antiseptic I keep on hand and it clears up almost immediately. Good luck!

Yes I have 3 holes in my ear and it is way comfortable I always forget my earrings in my ear. When you get them pierce it like a quick pinch and a bout a hour or two of very light pain. I feel it is worth it cause with the magnent earrings they can easily be lost. And yes you can pierce with real earrings I think that is best I got my daughter when she was 4 months ears pierce with real earrings she frown up but did not cry so if she can take it at 4 mos you should be able to take to..

It doesn't hurt at all. No pain whatsoever. They will give you some solution- you just apply with a cotton ball in the morning and at night. I can't even remember if I thought my ears felt a little sore the next day. It's super easy, nothing to worry about. And I never feel my earrings. I have to be wearing some super heavy, big earrings to feel anything on my ears. Get them pierced- you'll be glad you did!

Really. It's worth it. You can't feel the earring unless it brushes your cheek or you get some of those heavy loops. It hurts at first, but I got some oragel and put it on anytime it got uncomfortable. It's easy, you'll look cute, just don't pierce anywhere else!

Clips are excruciating and magnets hurt, too and you never know if they've fallen off. By far piercing is the better solution.

Getting them pierced hurts as much is it is to get pinched thats about it. I have 2 on the left an right side. U have to take care of them to be sure u dont get an infection. I would suggest going to a piercer in a tattoo parlor because the guns they use in the mall aren't good for ur ears because it shatters the skin making harder to heal up all the way.

a basic ear piercing is like two seconds of sting (try to get them done at the same time if ur a comward w/ low pain tolerance like me) Magnets and Clip ons? Ouch! Get good sterling silver, sergical steel, or 14k gold for best results and no infection. Ive gotton used to them, if i lay down and feel the earring i no its in but thats the only waay. just use small earrings on posts. dont use the big chandeler or dangling earrings or ones w/ big plastic hoops on them like the ones at claires. also make sure the bar on hoop earrings isnt too short or it will pinch. trust me there is no itch or pain if they fit right, arnt too big, and ur not alleergic. I love my gold ball earrings and they r really comfortable.

It hurts getting them done, but I have 7 holes and my belly done, so it can't be that bad if people go back and do it right.
And ya you can't even feel them in, sometimes they get annoying, but after you've had em long enough you can take them out. I have had my two main ones since I was 2, and can go without wearing earings for months, and the hole will still be there.
