where i was bought up i went to the same school as terry Venables the ex England captain and Dudley Moore the actor the list would be endless as it was so close to London tony Blair was bought up not far away not to mention some of the pompus Pratt's in Parliament. then there is the queen and Guy Ritchie oh posh spice she was only a few miles away I might be bending the rules but infamously the Kray twins where born and bred up the road in Stepney
Merlin the wizard inhabited a cave not far from where i am now and the famous poet Dylan Thomas wrote his poems in a shed down the way. Catherine zeta Jones was bought up about 40 Min's away and Prince Charles and Camila have a house nearby. not near enough to hear the bed creaking thankfully!

Well, where I consider home is Indiana, which has a lot of famous people from there, but mostly of a bygone age. But I'm near Michigan where we have an interstate I-69 going through, which links us to almost anywhere in Michigan within an hour's drive, so I identify more with Michigan, and on top of that list is Michael Moore (Flint), and Ted Nugent, who used to live even closer (Jackson). Both these guys really don't have to live there,(Nugent, I think, has since moved to Texas), but they kind of do it for the popularity of seeming home grown.
All that is just off I-69, too. People where I live could not care less about either of these guys.

Nellie Fox, a baseball star from the 1950s, was from St. Thomas, Pennsylvania, about a 20 minute drive from where I live. They put up a huge billboard when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame about ten years ago.

The Captain and Tenille (remember them?) live about 5 miles across the valley from me-- we even share the same plumber.
Greg LeMond (bicycle racer) also grew up over there by them.
Lacy J. Dalton (country singer) lives about 10 miles east of me.
