I personally prefer Wile E., because his card says

Wile E Coyote
Supre-Genius

And I think most of us like to think of ourselves as geniuses, and that we're clever, and we identify with putting a lot of effort into overcoming a rival, only to fall flat on our face (or in his case get himself flattened by an anvil or whatever).

That is not a spelling error, it is Supre-Genius....not Super-Genius....

As in the spelling of supreme....

Oh, PLEASE. You almost insult my intelligence with that one.

Road Runner may be preferred by the masses, but we all know that Wile E. Coyote is the better character. His dedication to catching the roadrunner (and sometimes Bugs Bunny in some of his special appearances) is admirable. His creativity in concocting the schemes by which to catch the aforementioned prey is...well...almost sexy...wouldn't you agree? And besides, anyone who carries a business card identifying one's self as a "supre genius" has just the right amount of self-esteem. You'll never see him self-deprecate, and yet it's just shy of arrogance.

And if all that doesn't convince you, have you ever seen Roadrunner get up and look like an accordion and play chords after a long fall off a cliff? That's what clinches it for the Coyote!

They exist in symbiosis, and aren't whole without each other. Like Laurel & Hardy, Abbott & Costello, and Chris Farly & David Spade, they need each other to be truly outstanding in humor.

If I had to pick one, It would be The Roadrunner. Yes, he seems aloof and unaware a times, but he's a big concept guy. The Roadrunner understands how to evade Coyote's traps and tricks with ease and gracefulness. Roadrunner understands that often the end result is of more importance than all the tinkering that got you there.

By contrast, Wile E. Coyote in all his perceived genius, hasn't figured a way to capture his seemingly inferior prey. He often uses the most overly-planned, highly-complex methods of capture and inevitably bungles them. Another downfall of Wile E. is his inability to learn from mistakes. He might be a great "nuts and bolts" thinker, but will never see the big picture like The Roadrunner does.

I like the Road Runner because he's fast, and doesn't seem to ever get mad even when Wile E. Coyote is constantly after him.
