most definitly. i had never cheered until 8th grade and i tried out and made it, and now i'm the varsity captain! but here are some tips...

-stretch whenever it is possible to get more flexible..
[for example, while you are doing your homework, or watching tv, sit in the floor in a v-sit and every few min., try to make your legs get farther apart.]
-start taking gymnastics somewhere.
[this will help you get started with backhandsprings which you will need later if your schools varsity squad requires it.]
-stand in front of a mirror and practice your motions.
[a lot of times you think your motions are right when they arent. this way, you can see yourself and know exactly what you need to work on.]
-when you are doing you back walkover/kickover, remember, DO NOT LOOK UP.
[look where you are going, straight out in front of you. this makes it a thousand times easier.]
-most importantly, if you dont make it, dont give up. that just gives you another year to work hard and get even better.

good luck!! :D

If you work hard, yes you can!! Last summer I was determined to work hard to become a cheerleader. I too did cheerleading when I was in elementary, but I was going into 8th grade that coming school year. I knew I had a lot of work today. I worked on flexability first. Make sure you can do a cartwheel, work on your splits, front and back handsprings, and all your jumps (toetouch, pike, left/right herkie). Then, maybe get a routine cheer video to help you learn to memorize dances/cheers efficantly so when tryouts come you are a quicker learner. I hope you make it, you sound like you have determination, which is a huge quality. I hope you make it!!! You'll have the time of your life it you do! Cheering is so much fun, I love it!!
Good luck

Hate to declare yet whilst your dad won't assist you, i desire that your mom will. i'm a center college cheerleading coach and cheerleading isn't low value. of course middle schoolers have not got jobs to pay for camp, uniforms, etc. and whether you may desire to get a job, you will no longer have time to artwork and bypass to after college practices, conferences, and video games.... and don't ignore assignments. you will want somebody that might actually assist you pay the expenses. Is your cheerleading squad classic or activity? a conventional squad is the squad that does the pep rally, cheers at video games from the sidelines, and can do a 0.5 time overall performance. A activity squad is a squad that travels around the rustic competing. many of the sport squads are co-ed, exceptionally experienced, incredibly confusing stunts, killer flips, you get the factor. Its like the deliver it On Squads. in case your college has a conventional squad, all you may do is have some form of rhythm and get a former cheerleader or one that has already made the squad to show you. you may desire to bypass to a UCA camp. they'll show you the basics of cheerleading. i think of this may be outstanding. in case your squad is a activity squad, your probabilities of turning out to be the squad are very narrow till you have had years of gymnastics. regardless of happens, I desire you the main suitable of success. shop attempting and artwork hard. undergo in strategies Cheerleading is tough artwork, if it grow to be to any extent further handy, it would be called soccer!

Just keep stretching for that "pancake". Not everyone can do it. I think it has do with pelvic structure. But get as flexible as you can anyway.

of course you can!!!!
if you keep working on ur
kickover(back walkover)
with a spotter,
you could get it by the end of the summer,
as for a front handspring....
also have a spotter,
but try it on mats,
and use your tramp.

as for tips...
just keep trying!!!!!
