Please don't assume ALL conservatives are like this! I recognize the "Blame America First" people represent only a small percentage of Democrats.

I’m a conservative and willing to give my opinion.
First, while I sympathize with you on this issue I also understand why people will say, "Liberals hate this country". It’s nothing more than a generalization but there are reasons. In my few years on this earth I have learned in high school and college and life about Hanoi Jane and the anti-war protesters actions toward our troops, slogans from the Cold War "Better Red that Dead", attempted creation of the welfare state, entitlements, quotas, affirmative action, open border policy/amnesty, abortion, supporting RANDOM checks at airports, unwilling to fight the Cold War, WW2, Korean War, and the list could go on. Not to long ago I watched a documentary where two liberal women praised a ruthless dictator by saying, “I wouldn’t mind living under a dictatorship if I have free healthcare”. So it is difficult to understand how any of these issues could show love for our democratic country. So when you ask, “Why do people keep saying democrats hate this county” just remember the quotes that stick in my head “I wouldn’t mind living under a dictator if I have free healthcare” or “better Red that Dead”. Do your opinions/beliefs reinforce this?
Now before you just tune me out I am always willing to listen to reason! I can't say I don't have some liberal ideas.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!
I am a liberal democrat and im glad i live in america. i love a place where anybody can say what they want, do what they want, and belive what they want. John Mellencamp is a democrat and if he hated this country why would he write "Our Country". These are the lyrics:
(John Mellencamp)
Well I can stand beside
Ideals I think are right
And I can stand beside
The idea to stand and fight
I do believe
There's a dream for everyone
This is our country
There's room enough here
For science to live
And there's room enough here
For religion to forgive
And try to understand
All the people of this land
This is our country
From the east coast
To the west coast
Down the Dixie Highway
Back home
This is our country
That poverty could be
Just another ugly thing
And bigotry would be
Seen only as obscene
And the ones that run this land
Help the poor and common man
This is our country
From the east coast
To the west coast
Down the Dixie Highway
Back home
This is our country
The dream is still alive
Some day it will come true
And this country it belongs
To folks like me and you
So let the voice of freedom
Sing out through this land
This is our country
From the east coast
To the west coast
Down the Dixie Highway
Back home
This is our country
From the east coast
To the west coast
Down the Dixie Highway
Back home
This is our country

The democrats don't hate this country anymore than the pamper wearing republicans. The far left wants everything given to everybody because nothing is the individuals fault. The far right wants corporate welfare because - as nine-inch-nails state - the more they give to others is the less they have for themselves.
It is funny to watch both sides stand so arrogantly thinking their version of truth is the truth. The fact is that both parties bow to the lobbyist. Us minions are not true Americans, but our American corporations - many of which threaten to set up headquarters in other countries unless they get their way - are the true American champions.
Neither party hates America. They just put self-interest above America.

Extremists on both sides are always calling each other disloyal and unpatriotic. I can only hope that more and more people can come away from the left and right and move more toward the center by the next election. Perhaps then we can stop throwing so much energy at labeling one another and get to work on coming up with some real solutions to the many serious problems facing the nation we all love.

Yes!! I'm tired of several things too:
1. people that say they support free speech... as long as the free speech matches their own opinion.
2. people that say they support free speech... but if the free speech doesn't match their opinion then it's un-American or treasoneous or supporting terrorism
3. people that make broad generalizations about all people on the 'other' side such as they: are on welfare, are stupid, are fat, kill babies, burn flags, vandelize peoperty, smoke crack, have crack babies, have... uh... a wide variety of intimate relations said in a derogatory manner (had an explicit list that might have gotten me booted), live in trailers, live in their parents basement, live in caves (i.e., terrorists and moonbats), live in a cardboard box (good thing for wireless modems then), etc., etc., etc.
4. people who ask a question... then say the answer given was wrong because it differed from their narrow point of view. Such as mentioning the Geneva Convention in their question, then saying it doesn't apply becase the US doesn't have to answer to any international laws
5. people who make broad, sweeping generalizations... then delete the question if someone counters with facts instead of more broad sweeping generalizations.
6. people who can't debate with facts
7. people who mock someone for actually researching a question and providing links
8. people who use "why aren't you over there fighting' as a retort because they don't have an intelligent answer.
9. people who spout the same party line over and over
10. people who think buttons are beneath them, such as spell check and search to see if their question has been asked 3,286 times before. (sorry, this became to long to run spell check).
Well now, that was quite refreshing! Thanks for the opportunity to vent!! :-)
BTW... I'm a Libertarian, so strongly pro-individual rights. Obviously, it can be trying sometimes.

Do yourself and America a favor - start researching each and every candidate BEFORE you vote for them. Party politics is falling by the way side and it is probably a good thing. Voting for someone just because they are a member of one party or another is doing a disservice to America, both you, your kids and anyone else!

Hear, hear!!! I really would like to think that the Republicans don't actually believe that we hate this great nation of ours. Surely, there must be some rational people out there who must realize that we just have a different idea of how to make it a better place.

OK, good for you. Just what we need another extreme person. You're going to die to protect the law? What do you do? Whip out a knife and start stabbing yourself if you happen to go over the speed limit? I get your point and I'm tired of it too. I guess they don't realize how much they are only hurting themselves and their party. Some of the things said about democrats on here make me think the republican party has turned into a party of crazies. Personally I think they are the ones responsible for dragging down America but that's just my opinion.
