Bottoming out. Getting to a point in life where there is so much pain that the way you have been thinking isn't going to work for you any longer.
A traumatic event. This will put up walls of caution. For instance, someone was once trusted, but the trust was broken.
Being touched by an angel. This happens when it is most needed and appreciated. Another person may become involved or simply touch you, the beauty of it can change a persons way of thinking, acting or beliefs.

Usually a tragedy changes people a lot. If someone sees someone else die, especially in a brutal way. Or if something happened to them, such as a near death experience. I think a lot of people try to hide the changes that have been made after a tragedy, but inside, they can never look at anything the same way.
Sex is another thing that changes people. There have been instances where total nerds turn to jocks, literally overnight, because of some really hot girl having some hard core sex with them.
I hope this helps!!

Once a person surrenders his life to Jesus, he receives the Holy Spirit, who will slowly but surely change that person radically from the inside out. He then no longer has to fulfill the passions of the sinful nature, but as he yields to the control of the Holy Spirit in his life is able to conquer the sinful nature.
"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God."

every experience we have whether negative or positive helps us shape and mold our nature. We touch each other in such small ways & nobody ever really thinks about the lasting effects of what our interactions mean.

their surrounding.
We become molded by that in which we surround ourself with. To change the way a person thinks, acts, talks etc change their environment.
John Watson said it best. "Give me a dozen healthy infants, well-formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in and I'll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might select – doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant-chief and, yes, even beggar-man and thief, regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations, and race of his ancestors.
