My wife and I are going through a divorce but it's the 1st stage. I was asked to vacate my home by Friday 5pm.=, because my wife lawyer said they have potentiasl buyers(Lie they just wanted me OUT) I have no money or anything. The only thing i can do is stay with friends. I'm not taking anything becuse the judge only gave me three days. I don't have the funds nor can I get an apartment. All I'm just taking r my clothes, however the pets are still in the house. i have no place for the pets. I do not want her taking them to a shelter. Their like family to us. It would hurt me to know that she gave them away. Can anything be done.

See if friends or family members might take them until you find a place, if not try your humane shelter.

Foster care. Contact your local animal shelters, explain your situation and find out if they can provide you with temporary placement or info on somewhere that does until you get settled. Petco and Petsmart also have adoption days with different rescue groups and they almost always foster the animals those groups are trying to place.

Bless you for treating your pets like family and not like they are a refrigerator or a La-Z-Boy! On the other hand, call your lawyer because they DO see pets as a possession and she can't just give them away without you.

Do you have any friends or family? The first thing that comes to my mind is how are you getting on the computer? I would contact family members. Do you have a job? Did your money go into a joint account? You should have some money IF there was a joint account...what a bummer. To bad things didn't work out...Hope you have family to help. That's who I depend on when things get rough...

If you don't have a friend that will assist you nor the money to provide them with the care they need and deserve, I 'm not sure of your options.
One option may be to get in touch with any rescue organizations in your town. (not necessarily the dog pound) Often, they will assist any way that they can to provide an animal with safety... I'm on the list for foster care in my community.

Face it...if you have nowhere to go you and obviously can't take the pets with you. They will be better off in a shelter. Unless you know someone who wants them.

Take them to a shelter and ask them to find good homes. Just be thankful it is not children we are talking about!

You were 'asked' to vacate? Then why can you not refuse???
AND insist that the pets remain as well....After all, this is your home as much as it is hers.
