When demonstrators protested against nuclear weapons on a cold, rainy day during the presidency of President John F. Kennedy, the President had soup, coffee, and tea made in sufficient quantities to warm the protesters and sent it out to them as encouragement for the democratic exercise. He also asked their leaders into the White House to discuss their grievances.

If they protest peacefully, the protesters should damned well be heard. They are exercising their rights. Find it in our heart to defend their right to protest, even if we disagree. It is their right, and our obligation. Let the politicians hear AND listen--it is their obligation. The people are our politicians' boss.

According to the Constitution, it is our right peacefully assemble and present grievances to our government for redress.

That would be the FBI, they are in charge of domestic matters. Did you know that Nixon was behind making LSD illegal? He thought the war protesters in the Vietnam era were all high on acid so he started the ball rolling to make it illegal. I guess it was OK for our government to give it to people without their knowledge but not OK for people to actually take it for recreation. Nothing should happen to protesters, it is still America. I'm sure if some people had their way, (true patriots and such) they would just disappear.

Just leave them be, everyone in this country has the right to express their opinion whether it be popular, unpopular, or neutral. Its a wonderful thing when us Americans actively use our rights. It shows that our founding fathers really did know what was best for this country

Well a pat on the back for at least being interested in the process I suppose is just fine.
You could educate some who are actually willing to listen to reality but I doubt most would be willing to listen.

Its good they care, its just too bad its often misguided.
I respect the ones that just are against war altogether always, at least they are honest. But the ones just against it from a partisan standpoint are worthless.

Just as you said, they should be praised for courageously voicing an opinion and exercising their rights as Americans to protest the government and it's policy's! *sm*

They certainly do have the right to protest, but they need to use some common sense as to where they protest. It is in poor taste to protest the war at a soldier's funeral and outside of military bases. The soldiers, sailors and airmen at these bases didn't put us in the war, they are courageously serving their country, so it is extremely distasteful to protest there.

Of course, they should be allowed to hold peaceful protests in order to voice their opinions. But, they shouldn't be alarmed when no one listens to their opinions. Just as they expect everyone to allow them the right to their opinions, they need to honor the right of the opposing view.

Well, according to John Kerry, re-education camps worked "really well" in S. Vietnam AFTER the North invaded and set them up!

So we should round up these liberals, place them in a camp, and re-educate them! *shrug* If Sen. Kerry buys this idea, then it should work wonders on these liberals!

I think they should be praised and they should also be shown in the main media... maybe it would unite us a bit more for a specific cause...

They should be praised!
