No. He should not get life in prison if he is found guilty. If found guilty, he should get an appropriate punishment decided by the jury/peers/judge.

If Michael Vick is found guilty, he will not get life in prison. I think the maximum is six years. But if he is found guilty, I virtually guarantee the judge and the jury will want to throw the book at him. He will most likely get the maximum sentence both in fines and prison time. Hopefully, he will be banished from the NFL.

Speaking of that, I heard that the NFL commissioner's office will not make a stand until after the trial. So apparently it sits with the Atlanta Falcon's owner whether or not to release Vick.

This man is in for one very tough year, and if the allegations are true, he deserves everything coming to him. Take care.

Dog and Cock (what is wrong with Yahoo censoring a perfectly legitimate word for a Male domesticated fowl? They probably don't like the word for a female dog either) fighting should both be legal. Where are the private property rights?

i'm not asserting that Vick would desire to get lifestyles in reformatory, yet there would desire to be a severe punishment. I even have 2 canine, a sprint chihuahua and a pink nostril pitbull. i admire them with all my heart, like they're my daughters. I wouldnt want everyone doing something to them, quite some folk have animals as their element of their family contributors and that i'm one. He could grasp, throw water and electrucuted, what type of person does that, to a defenseless animal? i don't know what Vick replace into thinking while he replace into doing all of this or partaking in any of this, however the way i glance at that's comparable to if he witnessed a homicide and didnt do something approximately it.

The Feds are involved because it is a felony to transport dogs across state lines for the purpose of fighting them.
No, life in prison is too good for him. I'd like to see him barred from the NFL and be barred from coming within 500' of any companion animal for life, and get community service that would put him scooping poop and cleaning cages for a significant amount of time.

Life in prison is pretty harsh sentence, but if he gets off lightly I think the general population will be outraged. American pet owners are the most enamored pet owners in the world; as evidenced by the spoiled dogs you see everywhere. I don't think this will be tolerated. His worst punishment, and what I hope happens, is that the Falcons terminate his contract.

He should get 1 year in jail and have to pay 5 million dollars to the ASPCA and do 500 hours community service at an animal shelter cleaning up poop, and never be allowed to own any more pets.

My question is why is the feds are involved in a matter that should be local. I mean there are terrorists out there and the Feds are going after this guy.

I think I heard that six years was the maximum under the statute. I think that sounds fair.
