Know how? I would like to do this! Where do I get the stuff. How do I do it? Or is it not worth the work?

I wouldn't make a table top out of plain broken glass. It would end up looking like you were trying to repair it. Now if you wanted to use decorative ceramic tiles for a new table top, that would be beautiful. Look at the 2 sites I've mentioned to get some idea of how to do this and the supplies you will need.

I've seen them made with broken dishes. Put the plates between two towels. and break them into pieces with a hammer.
Put a layer of dry wall mud on the table and stick your pieces to it in a pattern you like, but leave small uncovered edges. When that dries, cover everything in a grout in your color choice. I think unsanded grout is best to use. Follow the directions about cleaning up the excess. It's used in bathroom tiling between the tiles if you don't know what I'm talking about. Drywall mud is what they use in the seams after the drywall is put up. Yes, I think it's worth it. If you don't have any old plates, you can probably find some at the goodwill or salvation army stores.

if its a labor of love go for it- but mosaicing takes a whole lotta time!!

but sure its doable- break glass between newspaper or the like if it already isnt broken

prep wood with shellac (so moisture from grout doesnt lift up glass later)
- glue down glass with WELDBOND brand glue (found at lowes/depot/etc)- be sure glass edges are 1/8" to 1/4" apart
let dry - then grout (also can be bought at hardware stores)- choose grout after glass is down, you may change your mind as regards what color grout should be after you see the whole piece laid out!

have fun!

It would not be terrific to purchase this length of glass on line. that's fairly heavy and perplexing to deliver. the terrific wager could be to chunk the bullet and touch a tumbler enterprise and supply them the scale of it. If achieveable, considering that this one broke, i could use a thicker glass, which would not wreck so actual.
