It depends on what you are looking to get out of the game. Ticket prices drop when a losing team is in town, which means sitting closer to the field is a more viable option. Mid-week games there are less people that attend compared to a weekend series, making more tickets available. If the team that you want to go see, is near the top of the division, then games in september will be great games, but more people will want to do the same as you. I personally like night games, it just makes a better difference.

It depends on where you're from.. Typically people think to go when its really warm outside, but there nothing worse than sitting next to fans jumping around next to you who stink.. Plus, if you do get a seat, closer isnt always better.. You have to take the sun into consideration and try to avoid sunburn and this and that.. I always enjoy sitting underneath the upper deck in the shade..

I would suggest going when:
1. the team is playing at home
2. going to the game before the scheduled start time of the game. (ive done the three hour after first pitch thing before and it just wasn't that fun)

When you see the guys in the uniforms out on the grass. That's usually when something like a game might happen.

The best time to go is when there is a game being played. Otherwise, it's not much fun.

Nothing beats sitting down the 3rd base line on a sunny Saturday afternoon..................... unless you're talking about Fenway Park on a crisp October evening in the playoffs!
