I've never been to NY but I live here in Houston and from what I can tell downtown Houston is not like it at all. Yes its smaller than NY of course and way less congested. There aren't tons of ppl with no elbow room to walk. It is busy during the weekdays @ normal business hours and it is dead on the weekend except at night time around the clubs and bars and during special events and games at the stadiums...

No, downtown Houston is nothing like NYC. First of all, we roll up the sidewalks at 6PM. The only people going towntown after dark are slackers and clubkids.

Second, Houston is very spread out. Activities which would all be on Manhattan Island are spread out all over the 600+ square miles of Houston.

Downtown Houston is primarily a business area, hotels, banks, The Houston Grand Opera, The Alley Theater (Houston's professonal Theater).

well of course its smaller then new york city,nyc is like a more business city and largest city in the u.s

It is NOTHING close to a smaller version of NYC. There just isn't enough street activity or culture to even be considered.
