the score should remain almost constant through the years, age is irrelevant when it comes to assesing how high the number is. However, if you took a test that was meant for adults, the score would not be accurate. It may be higher or lower. One of the factors in determining the score is the age appropriateness of the questions. Most of the answers you have recieved on here are right. 130 is considered the gifted level. up to 110 is average. If you took an online test do't believe the results, I have scored all the way up to 217 on them, and have taken the real IQ test and of course scored nowhere near there. The fact that you are 12 and asking a serious question shows that you are definitely intelligent or at least have the capacity for intelligence which is what the test really demonstrates.

The IQ is based around a QUOTIENT. It is a statistically generated metric. If the average is not 100, then it is NOT an IQ test! A proper IQ test is predicated on the average being 100, otherwise it is not relative and is not a particularly useful metric! IQ tests used by online websites are usually a scam and do NOT measure IQ. Having said that, a GENUINE IQ of 118 is good (assuming the test was valid in the first place!), since the average is NECESSARILY 100.

It's what I had when I was 12.
And I have a college degree and have had a good life. It's not a gifted IQ score, but I got by with that score.

If you received that score from an on-line site, please realize those tests are for "entertainment purposes only". They do not give you a validated number.
In order to actually have your I.Q. tested, please find an educational psychologist who can administer a valid I.Q. test, and better yet, tell you what your scores mean.
For example, if I used the WISC-IV with you, your Full-Scale I.Q. Score of 118 would mean that you scored in the "high average" meaning you should be doing pretty well in school.

80-110 is normal
130 is gifted
You are a little above normal, but not gifted.
By that test of course. You would have to take several test and average them to get a more accurate result.
